‘Dexter’ Releases Season 7 Premiere “Are You…?” Synopsis

All year long we've had to speculate and piece together what we could from 'Dexter' season 7, understandably most of which is being kept under wraps following the shocking conclusion of season 6 finale "This is the Way the World Ends."  But as 'Dexter' season 7 comes closer and closer to its September 30 air date, more and more detail are bound to emerge.  Thankfully, even Showtime is getting in on the game with full episode descriptions!

Courtesy of Showtime, the first official details of 'Dexter' season 7 have emerged by way of a full description of season 7 premiere "Are You...?"  In it, the network teases how Deb will react to the revelation that her brother has killed Doomsday Killer Travis Marshall, as well as preview the fates of certain peripheral characters.  And what's this about re-opening an old case from season 2?

After witnessing her brother kill Travis Marshall, Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) attempts to reconcile with Dexter (Michael C. Hall) while struggling to cover up their involvement with the murder. Meanwhile, Detective Mike Anderson has an unfortunate run-in, Quinn and Batista begin to make amends, and LaGuerta finds evidence that causes her to re-think the closed Bay Harbor Butcher case.

That certainly sounds like bad news for Detective Mike, given that we know him to pop up in 'Sons of Anarchy' season 5!  And what's this about LaGuerta taking a second look at the Bay Harbor Butcher case?  Will she be next to find out Dexter's secret, or worse, end up on his table?  We're sure Deb would have some mixed feelings about that!

Apart from the news that ‘Dexter’s eighth season (2013) would be the last, there haven't been many details of  the upcoming run, which bows on Showtime September 30.  However, the guest stars are plentiful!

In addition to the major casting of ‘Chuck‘ star Yvonne Strahovski as “Hannah McKay,” a woman with a dangerous past who finds herself embroiled with Miami Metro, ‘Dexter’ season 7 boasts some impressive talent. We’re referring, of course, to ‘Heroes’ star Santiago Cabrera as an investigative writer, ‘Luck‘ star Jason Gedrick as an owner of a gentleman’s club, one which frequently plays host to fellow-cast (and likely major villain) Ray Stevenson, a “high-ranking member of an Eastern European crime ring who arrives in Miami determined to learn who killed one of his associates.”
