While the 2012 'Doctor Who' Christmas special "The Snowmen" won't officially debut until - you guessed it - Christmas, The BBC has been kind and generous enough not to make our wait too arduous.  In addition to the earlier clips, trailer and photos we've scouted, the network has released an official poster and synopsis of the episode, which will introduce Jenna-Louise Coleman as the Doctor's new companion Clara and pit the two against some seriously wicked snowmen.  Ready for a look, then?  Geronimo!

Still feeling TARDIS blue over the loss of Amy and Rory Pond?  No longer!  The BBC has seen fit to release the full synopsis and gorgeous new poster for the 2012 'Doctor Who' Christmas special "The Snowmen."  Featuring Richard E. Grant and Tom Ward as our villains, the special also boasts the return of characters Madame Vastra (Neve McIntosh), Commander Strax (Dan Starkey), and Jenny Flint (Catrin Stewart).

Check out The BBC's official summary:

Christmas Eve 1892 and the falling snow is the stuff of fairy-tales. When the fairy-tale becomes a nightmare and a chilling menace threatens Earth, an unorthodox young governess, Clara, calls on the Doctor for help. But the Doctor is in mourning, reclusive and determined not to engage in the problems of the universe. As old friends return, will the Doctor really abandon humankind or will he fight to save the world – and Christmas – from the icy clutches of this mysterious menace.

You can check out the poster and an additional photo of the razor-teethed "Snowmen" below, and give us your predictions for the rest of 'Doctor Who' series 7 in the comments!
