Updates in the design of Doctor Who are built into its central character, so it isn’t any surprise that recent decades have upgraded some of the sci-fi staple’s more hokey-looking foes. Now, Season 10 will take us back to the classic-looking Cybermen for a two-part arc that kicks off Peter Capaldi’s final episodes.

The BBC released a new photo from Season 10 production, in the process revealing that the eleventh and twelfth (read: final) episodes will see the original “Mondasian Cybermen” returning, having been absent from the series over fifty years. The appearance also represents a special sendoff for Capaldi, as the Mondasian Cybermen are the departing star’s “long-time favourite foe.”

Elsewhere, in addition to Michelle Gomez’s likely return as Missy, Season 10 will also feature Jekyll & Hyde star Stephanie Hyam in a minor role. Peter Capaldi has suggested Jenna Coleman’s Clara might return in some form, while the search for a new Doctor will begin later this year. Steven Moffat’s last season was also confirmed for this year, placing Chris Chibnall as the new head writer and executive producer, to begin after Season 10.

We’ll see more soon, but check out the first Season 10 trailers below, and stay tuned for the April 15 premiere.
