'Doctor Who's fantastic 2012 Christmas Special "The Snowmen" may have briefly satiated our hunger for fresh Time Lord adventures by giving us a mysterious new companion to focus on, but how long until we get to hop in the TARDIS once more? Thankfully the BBC has decided to end the ambiguous wait for 'Doctor Who' fans, officially setting the series 7 return for March 30, 2013. Fire up the TARDIS, the good Doctor will be back to hurdle through space and time once again before you know it. The BBC has officially announced that 'Doctor Who' series 7 will pick up on March 30, following 2012 Christmas special "The Snowmen." Though untitled, the first episode of the series return will be written by show-runner Steven Moffat, and directed by Colm McCarthy.

No date has yet been set for he American premiere, but the two will likely not be far apart. This isn't 'Downton Abbey,' after all.

As of the most recent trailer, we caught the return of the Cybermen (in an episode penned by Neil Gaiman), creepy tech across the Doctor’s face, the return of Madame Vastra, and an appearance by actor Dougray Scott!  It’s all leading up to the top-secret ‘Doctor Who’ 50th anniversary special, rumored to include a number of past guests, potentially even all the previous Doctors!
