One doesn’t set Donald Glover to host SNL and overlook his musical talent. The Atlanta and Solo: A Star Wars Story star will make his SNL hosting debut in May, pulling double-duty with his musical alter-ego Childish Gambino.

SNL confirmed the good news during ex-writer John Mulaney’s episode, setting May 5 as Glover’s hosting debut. Amusingly, the promo billed both Glover and his musical alter-ego Childish Gambino, despite the fact the two are – spoiler alert – one and the same. The May 5 episode will arrive a few weeks before Glover appears as Lando Calrissian in the new Star Wars film on May 25, but days before the Season 2 finale of FX’s Atlanta on May 10.

Glover has not previously hosted SNL, though the writer-comedian-creator famously got his big break among the writing staff of 30 Rock, and subsequently starring in NBC’s Community. The actor is also the next host after this weekend, as April only features Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman and John Mulaney. The final May hosts will likely be revealed in the coming weeks.

We’ll have more soon, so stay tuned for the latest on Glover’s debut.
