Double Fine Productions has given word that their hacking-themed puzzle action game, Hack N Slash, will be released in the first half of 2014. And yes, they promise it will have algorithms.

The release was posted on the official Double Fine site and is chock full of the Double Fine humor we've come to love. Hack N Slash first debuted during Amnesia Fortnight 2012, Double Fine's internal game jam. A two-week prototype was created after Hack N Slash garnered the most fan votes.

Hack N Slash features a young elf hacker who must go through and action/adventure game using her hacking skills to cheat.

Double Fine president and CEO Tim Schafer said, "Look, I’m going to be honest with you here: I don’t really understand what’s going on inside this game’s code. I believe it contains ‘algorithms.’ But I know what’s going on inside my heart when I play it. And that is joy.”

Hack N Slash will be released in the first half of 2014 on PC, Mac and Linux on Steam, so get ready for algorithms, y'all.
