Among the dozens of TV panels at Comic-Con 2013, 'How I Met Your Mother' boasted an incredible showing at the Indigo Ballroom during its first and only appearance at the legendary San Diego event. Along with a special video of Ted's kids finally firing back at their father for such a long-winded story, we also got intel on the final season's wedding weekend format, and an entire episode spaced over the course of one Barney slap!

First and foremost, series creators and executive producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas stepped up to clarify the ambient confusion over the final season, which various interviews have reported to be spaced entirely over the 56 hours leading up to Barney and Robin's wedding. The 'HIMYM' duo specified that the ninth and final year would in fact flash back and forward constantly, providing a much more familiar feel to the final season:

"We want to stress [the weekend] is the framework," said Bays. "It's not four episodes of flower arranging. Decades will span over the course of the season in this one weekend." Adding to the time-tripping nature of the final season, Craig Thomas previewed an episode that takes place "in the middle of one slap," potentially titled "Slapsgiving III: Slappointment in Slapmara" and ending on a musical number.

So far, the final season of 'How I Met Your Mother' has recruited such guest stars as 'Revenge''s Roger Bart, ‘The Office‘ star Ellie Kemper, Sherri Shepherd and Wayne Brady reprising his role as Barney’s half-brother James Stinson. CBS also revealed that all four regulars would meet the mother (herself a newly minted regular) prior to Ted.

We've included the hilarious Comic-Con video revenge of the 'How I Met Your Mother' kids below, so take a look and tell us what you want to see from the ninth and final season in the comments!
