Kellan Lutz made a name for himself by playing the chiseled vampire in 'The Twilight Saga,' but now he's ready to unleash his new character, that of legendary strongman Hercules in 'Hercules: The Legend Begins.' The star released a brief snippet from the official trailer, to be released in full during New York Comic-Con, but just a tad more exciting is that he revealed himself in costume on the set of 'The Expendables 3' in the process.

Lutz was added to 'The Expendables 3' -- which includes  Sylvester StalloneJason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Mel GibsonHarrison FordAntonio BanderasWesley Snipes, Ronda Rousey, Victor Ortiz and Glenn Powell -- as one of the "new blood" Stallone kept mentioning throughout the casting process. The younger members of the team are described as "faster and more tech-savvy," which will help the veterans in a battle against Expendables co-founder-turned-villain Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson).

As for 'Hercules,' this looks more like a 'Gladiator'-meets-'Troy' thing. And, no, this is not like Brett Ratner's 'Hercules' starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson:

Betrayed by his King and sold into slavery, Hercules must use his formidable strength to fight for his freedom and return to his true love, Hebe, the Princess of Crete.

The full 'Hercules: The Legend Begins' trailer will hit this Saturday at NYCC during a panel that includes Kellan Lutz, Liam McIntyre, Gaia Weiss, Scott Adkins, director Renny Harlin and co-producer Jonathan Yunger.

'Hercules: The Legend Begins' is set for release in March of 2014, while 'The Expendables 3' will hit August 15, 2014.
