Netflix hasn’t garnered as much outright attention with their heavily-financed historical epic Marco Polo, but at least some of that money will go to good use in Season 2. Fresh off Netflix’s original Crouching Tiger sequel film, Michelle Yeoh joins Marco Polo Season 2 for an important recurring role.

Per the streaming service’s official announcement, Yeoh will take a recurring Season 2 role as a mysterious mysterious figure from the past of Hundred Eyes’ (Tom Wu), though Netflix declined to comment any further. Said Marco Polo creator John Fusco:

Michelle Yeoh is not only a screen legend and one of the greatest international action stars of all time, she’s one of the best actors of her generation. So we are thrilled to have her join one of the most diverse ensembles in television and bring her unique talents to Marco Polo. Her role in the second season is one that’s going to add even more intrigue, mystery, and Asian martial arts to our rich story world.

Netflix also notes that the Marco Polo Season 2 cast includes Lorenzo Richelmy as the famed historical figure himself, along with, Benedict Wong as Kublai Khan, Joan Chen as Empress Chabi, as well as Zhu Zhu, Olivia Cheng, Claudia Kim, Rick Yune, Remy Hii, Mahesh Jadu and Uli Latukefu.

We don’t yet know exactly when Marco Polo Season 2 will premiere in 2016 (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2: Sword of Destiny hits the service on February 26), but will Michelle Yeoh up the wow factor for Season 2?
