Twelve episodes deep into its freshman year, Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' has often been accused of ignoring its own wealth of comic continuity and characters with which to call upon, but apparently the ABC series doesn't have any issue borrowing designs from 'Mass Effect 3' without credit to EA!

As first reported by Eurogamer, eagle-eyed fans of either series noticed a rather startling image from 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' midseason finale "The Bridge," in which an exterior shot of a S.H.I.E.L.D. training facility wherein pilot star Mike Peterson (J. August Richards) was seen to train appears to have been lifted entirely from a similar design use in BioWare's Mass Effect 3: Earth Alliance print of a limited-edition lithograph.

Though some of the more outlandish elements and designs of the 'Mass Effect' structure have been toned down for the 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' reuse, there can be no denying that the buildings are unmistakably identical, down to the angle at which we see them. Both ABC and EA reportedly declined to comment, though BioWare's Mass Effect and Dragon Age studios general manager Aaryn Flynn took the incident in stride:

Given what befell Mike Peterson by the end of 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.''s 2014 premiere "The Magical Place," we wouldn't necessarily expect to see the structure used onscreen again, though worth noting is that next week's "Seeds" will take the team to another 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' installation, this time an academy for trainees, hopefully with a bit more original design to its layout.

You can check out either image of the duplication below, but what say you? Harmless homage from the effects house, or a symbol of 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.''s larger creative problems? Give us your thoughts on the 'Mass Effect' usage and the series at large in the comments!
