Of all Marvel’s Netflix Defenders, Iron Fist has proved the most opaque after Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, mired in casting controversy and seemingly delayed in production. Now, our live-action Daniel Rand has finally been cast, as Iron Fist sets Game of Thrones alum Finn Jones for the final Defender role, starting production in the near future.

Entertainment Weekly confirmed the news, without comment from Marvel or Netflix as of yet. Jones is best remembered for his role as Ser Loras Tyrell in multiple Game of Thrones seasons to date.

Meanwhile, Marvel maintains it hasn’t decided between scheduling Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, Jessica Jones Season 2 or possibly others, while Netflix previously expressed inclination to premiere only two Marvel series per year. Scott Buck will showrun Iron Fist, while recent reports suggested Jessica Jones writer Scott Reynolds will also have a hand on the creative side.

Iron Fist will likely move forward on production in the coming weeks and months, but was Finn Jones the right choice to finally put their glowing hand to good use? What should we expect from the final Defenders chapter, before the big teamup series starts assembling?
