Obviously, all the best movie news comes from one source: Vanilla Ice. The one-time “rapper” and current home remodeler turns up in Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg’s ‘That’s My Boy’ (for some odd reason), and was thrilled to be at the MTV Movie Awards the other night. That’s where MTV News caught up with him and asked him about possibly contributing to the soundtrack of the soon-to-be-in-production ‘Ninja Turtles’ movie from producer Michael Bay.

What’s Rob Van Winkle have to say? “I can’t say anything,” he joked, before going on to reveal some specific knowledge.

So when is this revised ‘Ninja Turtles’ movie happening? Vancouver’s The Province reports that the film is targeting a late-summer, early-fall start to production in Canada, with casting underway. The story even confirms what Ice dropped: That the turtles will be aliens this time around, and not mutated creatures born of the sewers.

Watch for yourself what Vanilla had to say about this:

Does that matter that the turtles are not mutated from the sewers? Are you bent out of shape that the canon of the ‘Ninja Turtles’ could be warped by producer Bay and director Jonathan Liebesman (‘Wrath of the Titans’)? We’re game to see whatever direction the franchise might be willing to go, and by all accounts, the movie’s moving ahead as planned, with or without Ice.

Truthfully, though, this story was just an excuse for us to be able to share ‘Ninja Rap’ with you. What better way to kick off your Friday?
