‘Orphan Black’ Season 3: Justin Chatwin’s Role Revealed, ‘True Detective’ Star and More Cast
Like certain other spring series not to be named, ‘Orphan Black‘ mercilessly teases us to wait for its return in the spring. We’d previously learned that ‘Shameless‘ star Justin Chatwin would take a mysterious new season 3 role in 2015, but now the full details have been revealed, along with cast additions from ‘True Blood,’ ‘Black Swan,’ ‘Warehouse 13' and more.
Per the BBC-A’s official season 3 press release, we’ve learned that ‘Orphan Black’ season 3 will feature Chatwin in the role of Jason Kellerman, a ruggedly good looking and street-smart drug-dealer in the guise of a charismatic businessman. Meanwhile, recent ‘True Detective‘ addition James Frain has joined the clone drama as Ferdinand, a charming, intimidating and well-educated “cleaner,” considered a powerful player in a secretive, multi-national political faction that operates with questionable ethics and a ruthless approach.
Want more? ‘Black Swan’ star Ksenia Solo will play as Shay, a soulful and compassionate holistic healer with a great sense of humor destined to become a new friend to Cosima. ‘Warehouse 13' star Kyra Harper will play Dr. Coady, a ruthless doctor and advisor to the military. Coady is outwardly the soul of reason, but her maternal, nurturing manner conceals an agenda that even her superiors do not suspect. Finally, we also have Earl Pastko as Ferdinand’s bodyguard “Bulldog,” who communicates with his boss by looks only and carries out the dirty work of his shady employers.
So reads the ‘Orphan Black’ season 3 synopsis:
Season 3 plunges the clone sisterhood into unexpected territory with the realization that they’re not alone. Just when they thought they knew their enemies and allies, season three reveals our clones are more vulnerable than ever before. Highly trained, identical male-soldiers raise more questions than answers. Who are these new clones? Who created them? And more importantly, why do they exist?
Sarah, Cosima, Alison and Helena are stronger together than they are apart, but this season will put that bond to the test. Will they forge towards their truth, or fall at the feet of those that seek to control them?
In addition to ‘Game of Thrones’ star Michiel Huisman’s return, we also know series star Evelyne Brochu is confirmed to return in the role of Cosima’s scientist lover, Delphine. We’re still waiting on a proper trailer before the show’s April 2015 premiere, but rewatch the ‘Orphan Black’ season 3 teaser below, and tell us what you want to see when the #CloneClub returns in 2015!
