After 'Paranormal Activity 3' swung us back in time to the 80s and the days of VHS, 'Paranormal Activity 4' brings us back to the present with an all new family, but it looks like we haven't gotten away from the mythology of the previous films too much.

The first full, official trailer hit the web today and it features a blonde teen girl interacting with a friend or boyfriend via Skype. She tells him about this creepy neighbor kid who keeps hanging around outside, and we think it's safe to assume from the way this trailer sets things up that the kid in question is Hunter, the son of Kristi from the second film. We're also pretty sure Katie will be returning as well.

There's not too much to go on in this first look, and the dialogue with the teens feels a bit unnatural. No big scares other than some lights turning off and a shadowy figure (Katie? Kristi?) appearing behind the girl. It's noted at the beginning of the trailer that the spooky stuff starts occurring when some new neighbors move in next door to the family, which could be pretty interesting. And there's the addition of the automated security announcing when the doors have been opened and closed.

'Paranormal Activity 4' is directed by the team of Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost, the guys behind 'Catfish,' and directors of 'Paranormal Activity 3.' The film hits theaters October 19.

UPDATE: We've added a different teaser for the film that has some new scares. Check it out below...
