First came 24: Live Another Day, than Heroes Reborn and The X-Files, and now the revival game has officially unshackled the Scofields. FOX has formally begun development of a Prison Break revival series, to return Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell to their wall-busting ways.

According to TVLine, FOX has begun giving more serious attention to an event series revival of the 2005 drama, similar to the halved run of 24: Live Another Day (which itself may spawn a new spinoff). The prospect of a Prison Break reunion had originally floated forth with The X-Files, while FOX has yet to comment officially.

Also unknown beside FOX’s take is the availability of Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller, the latter of which will act as a lead among CW Arrow spinoff Legends of Tomorrow at midseason. Purcell too will take part in his Heat Wave role, though less centrally, given his absence from the recent trailer.

Details are on lockdown (Prison jokes! How arresting!) for now, but was the world in dire need of a Prison Break revival? What do you think the Scofields might be up to in 2016, or beyond?
