You love Shaun of the Dead, the first film in Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost’s Coretto Trilogy of films. But did you know that an early scene in the movie foreshadows all the events to follow? Frost’s Ed basically predicts everything that’s going to happen in a conversation with Pegg’s Shaun. “We’ll have a Bloody Mary, first thing,” he says in reference to the first zombie (named Mary) in their backyard, “have a bite at King’s Head,” referring to Shaun’s stepfather getting bitten by a zombie, and so on. That’s just one of the bloody good facts featured in the latest episode of You Think You Know Movies!

Wright, Pegg, and Frost all previously worked together on the British TV series Spaced, and Shaun of the Dead is littered with references and homages to the show. Tyres, a bike messenger character from the series with a distinctive yellow hat, shows up in a crowd of zombies; Jessica Hynes, who co-created and co-starred on Spaced with Pegg, shows up playing a character with a history with Shaun. And the whole film was loosely inspired by an episode of Spaced where Pegg’s character had a dream that he was trapped in the zombie apocalypse.
