'Smash' is going to be a very different show when it returns for season 2 in 2013, and now we've got a much clearer picture of how.  Previously, we learned that Dev, Ellis and Julia's husband Michael would make their exit, and that several new characters have been cast recently for series regular roles.  So, who's the latest to join the ensemble?

Taking the final of three series regular roles, Broadway actress Krysta Rodriguez will join the cast of 'Smash' season 2 in 2013, according to a new report from TVLine.  Recently seen as Wednesday Addams in the Broadway adaptation of 'The Addams Family,' Rodriguez will take the role of Ana, Karen’s "fun and spunky" new roommate who aspires to be a Broadway star as well.

Rodriguez joins newly-added series regulars Andy Mientus and  ‘Newsies’ star Jeremy Jordan, as well as the recently-added Jennifer Hudson in replacing the departing cast of the first season, namely Raza Jaffrey (Dev), Jaime Cepero (Ellis), Brian D’Arcy James (Julia’s husband Frank) and Will Chase (Julia’s lover Michael). As previously reported, season 2 will also see the departure of show-runner and creator Theresa Rebeck, with former ‘Gossip Girl‘ EP Josh Safran stepping in.
