More rumors about Sony's purported virtual reality headset for the PlayStation 4 have surfaced ahead of Tokyo Game Show, giving us a better idea of what to expect and when to expect it.

According to Games Industry, Sony is planning on giving the VR headset a major push, and though the company isn't talking about the unannounced peripheral publicly, it has reportedly been hyping the device behind closed doors meetings with developers and publishers. Sources claimed the headset will use the PlayStation Eye camera for headtracking, which supposedly makes it more accurate than the Oculus Rift.

The sources also indicated that while a TGS debut has been hinted at for the headset, Sony may not actually bring it along due to a lack of compatible games. Sony also doesn't want to detract from the impending PlayStation 4 launch, considering the VR peripheral isn't slated to arrive until the fall of 2014. Whenever Sony decides to show off the VR headset, we'll be playing close attention. It may sound like a gimmick, but if done right, it could really bring console gaming to a whole new level if given the support.
