During Marvel Studio's big presentation at Comic-Con 2014, nearly the entire 'Avengers 2' cast came out on the Hall H stage to tease their next big battle and screen the first footage for the fans. But what the audience didn't see was all the post-action. The stars came out to chat with press about all things Ultron, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, the post-'Winter Soldier' S.H.I.E.L.D., and what each character is up to in this brave new world.
'Godzilla,' the 2014 version from relative newcomer Gareth Edwards, is just about as good as a big fat summer tentpole movie gets these days. It's fun, scary and awe-inspiring in just the right places. Some of the acting is dull and the dialogue isn't exactly dripping with nuance, but these concerns are secondary. The set pieces are marvelous, the special effects are terrific and great care has gone into keeping the visual storytelling fresh.
You want a poster quote, cause here it comes: this 'Godzilla' is a monster!
Following yesterday's release of the first official clip from 'Godzilla,' Warner Bros. and Legendary have brought us four more clips from the upcoming film to further intensify your excitement for the return of the classic monster. In addition, they're also taking us behind the scenes with 11 minutes of footage to show you all the hard work that went into bringing this legend back to the big screen.
Warner Bros. recently screened 'Godzilla,' the Gareth Edwards-directed reboot of the Toho classic, for select members of the press (insert self-congratulatory back pat). Though the rest of the world still has to wait until the beast stomps into theaters on May 16, the studio released a hefty photo gallery of 29 images (including some behind-the-scenes moments) from the film, in addition to teasing some bits about the future of the franchise.
Just a few weeks before 'Godzilla' finally hits theaters, we're getting one final trailer for the film (dubbed the "Asia Trailer," mostly because it features Japanese subtitles). We've seen a lot of 'Godzilla' footage to date, but here we get our best sense of the plot of the film: Godzilla is awoken to defeat other monster(s) that destroying San Francisco.
All of the trailers for 'Godzilla' have put emphasis on tone, showcasing the aftermath of epic monster rampages and giving us tons of close-ups of people whose days have been pretty much ruined. But this new TV spot does something a little different, selling the human story behind all of the chaos and destruction. Oh, and it does so while offering our best look yet at Godzilla himself.
We've been getting various new looks at the 'Godzilla' reboot by way of Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, but this new 'Godzilla' trailer teases much more to come than we thought. While providing us with new footage of the cast and the iconic beastie, our latest sneak peek at director Gareth Edwards' film also reveals a more epic and extended preview will drop tomorrow.
After watching the 'Captain America 2' post-credits scenes, one of which introduced Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as "the twins" (aka Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver), one viewer exclaimed, "Am I supposed to know who they are?" Dedicated Marvel fans across the globe are no doubt rolling their eyes over what, to them, seems obvious, but it still happened.
It's easy to forget how even though Marvel's comic book universe has gone mainstream, thanks to the 'Avengers' movies, there's still a percentage of casual viewers who are only just grasping the surface of the MCU (for newbs, that stands for "Marvel Cinematic Universe") and are blissfully unaware of its implications. While we've provided primers for the uninitiated for such figures as Ultron and the Guardians of the Galaxy, we now turn our attention to the two new superheroes joining 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron.'
Earlier today, we got our first look at the set of 'The Avengers 2' on location in Aosta, Italy, where Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Jeremy Renner are filming some major action sequences for the highly anticipated 2015 film. Now, how would you like to get up close with Hawkeye and "The Twins" in these revealing new photos from the set?
