Ex-'Community' Boss Dan Harmon Writing New FOX Comedy

Though there was never really any hope of Dan Harmon being allowed to return to our beloved 'Community' it's streets ahead to know that he may just have landed on his feet.  In spite of the 'Community' creator's unceremonious firing at the hands of Sony TV, sources say Harmon is close to a deal that would enable him to create a new comedy series at FOX!  So, what might the developer come up with this time, and who could he take with him?

There goes the neighborhood.  Just earlier today, we were reporting that 'Community' had a bright star on the horizon, now that it's appearance at Comic-Con 2012 would be accompanied by Dan Harmon-replacing show-runners Moses Port and David Guarascio, no doubt looking to quell fan anxiety of 'Community' season 4.  As if on reflex, it seems the exiled Dan Harmon has taken to the soapbox once more...

When 'Community' was first announced to be renewed for an additional thirteen episodes, we were overjoyed.  When NBC announced that the episodes would air on Friday nights, we had mixed feelings.  Then came the announcement that Dan Harmon had been fired as show-runner, and two relative strangers had been brought in, and we were sad, but ultimately optimistic.  Now, the latest development in the 'Community' season 4 saga may be some small cause for hope...

Dan Harmon isn’t going to be the driving force behind ‘Community’ anymore.  It’s weird, and bizarre to say, but I honestly can’t tell if I’m more surprised that Sony and NBC chose to go this route, or that we’re getting new episodes of ‘Community’ at all this fall. But while many are freaking out that Harmon is gone, we're trying to stay calm and stay excited about a fourth season of 'Community.'

Come on, people, aren't we past this?  The healing had begun from the infamous war of words between 'Community' series creator Dan Harmon and series star Chevy Chase, but now another leaked, albeit older message threatens to derail any progress made on an amicable vibe for the endangered series.

Just as 'Community' finally returned from its long winter hiatus, and a ratings uptick in recent episode combined with a Comedy Central syndication deal suggested that the show was likely to pick up a season 4 renewal, more trouble is a'brewin'.  But it's not coming from the ratings this time...
