Just yesterday we got a new look at Benedict Cumberbatch and Chiwetel Ejiofor on the set of Doctor Strange, as the actors (along with some colorfully-costumed co-stars) filmed a scene in New York — in broad daylight! Where anyone could see! Today brings more photos from the set of Marvel’s mystical superhero film, this time giving us a sneak peek at Mads Mikkelsen’s secretive villain and his seriously rad makeup.

Hulu’s first trailer for The Path gave us a peek at Hugh Dancy’s next role, though many a Hannibal fan keeps hope that Bryan Fuller will one day reunite Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen for another chapter. Fuller has long kept vague on the mystery plot to a potential fourth season, though Dancy gave some tantalizing clues that “took us back to the first season.”

Is there a better villain than one played by Mads Mikkelsen? He’s cooked up decadent feasts as Dr. Hannibal Lecter, tortured poor James Bond with a rope, and was the baddie who had Rihanna’s money earlier this year. Now, we finally know who the Hannibal star will play in Marvel’s Doctor Strange: the bad guy!

The release of Hannibal Season 3 on Blu-ray has served a banquet unto itself, between revelations of who cooked that finale leg, and our own full interview with Bryan Fuller, but one particular aspect of the finale has had fans salivating for months. One of television’s goriest and most cinematic (b)romances came to an end this year when the Season 3 finale of Hannibal served as the series finale (at least for now). It felt like a suitable ending when (spoiler alert) Hugh Dancy’s Will and Mad Mikkelsen’s Hannibal killed the Red Dragon together followed by a literal cliffhanger that saw the pair falling off a cliff in full-embrace. It was gloriously bloody, emotional and gorgeous, all the elements that made Hannibal one of the most stunning and daring shows on network TV.

The Hannibal series finale lefts fans salivating for more answers, but sadly we were only left with a cooked leg. Now we finally know the identity of the chef who cooked it.

As with prior seasons, Hannibal ended Season 3 conclusively enough to satisfy its fans, while still leaving plenty of room to return. The race to re-seat Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen at Bryan Fuller’s table has long since cooled, but Mikkelsen thinks it might not happen if Hannibal isn’t revived in the next year.

Production has officially begun on Marvel’s Doctor Strange, with director Scott Derrickson at the helm and Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorcerer Supreme in what promises to be a truly unique and, well, strange offering from the MCU. Marvel has formally announced the start of production and confirmed the central cast, including former Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen, who had previously been in talks for a role.

There’s a healthy amount of secrecy and intrigue surrounding the new Star Wars universe, with Disney and Lucasfilm taking a very measured approach to how much information they reveal to fans — and when. As of now, we know very little about Star Wars: Rogue One, the first in the studio’s planned series of anthology films. Mads Mikkelsen may have just given us one clue to what’s in store with Gareth Edwards’ standalone story, and he may have done it in a pretty unlikely (and sort of banal) way.

More than any before it, Hannibal Season 3 leaned on the written word of franchise author Thomas Harris, particularly Red Dragon, occasionally adapting entire exchanges and scenes to fit the renewed context of Bryan Fuller’s twisted love story. One scene in particular between Hannibal and Will splashes right off the page in all three filmed adaptations, captured in a new mashup of Hannibal, Red Dragon and Manhunter.
