With all eyes on the next entry in the DC Cinematic Universe, it’s hard to say what is under more pressure: Wonder Woman, the World War II-era superhero and savior of the modern world, or Wonder Woman, the first female-directed movie in the modern blockbuster era and a stab at social relevance for the beleaguered executives at Warner Bros. The first Wonder Woman trailer that debuted at Comic-Con hit all the right notes for an exciting and female-driven superhero movie; would additional trailers walk back that promise or deliver more of the same?

‘Wonder Woman’ Reveals First Official Photo and Cast Members as Production Begins

It’s official: as evidenced last week by a set photo featuring Chris Pine, production on Wonder Woman is underway with director Patty Jenkins, and Warner Bros. has released the first official photo of Gal Gadot as the titular superhero. In addition, the studio has announced several new cast members, including Danny Huston, David Thewlis and Robin Wright.

It's a tale as old as TV, that the cancellation of one series leads to speculation of a cinematic return, or a new outlet to continue the story. Starz's cancelled 'Magic City' might be the craziest example we've heard yet, however, returning the 1960's Jeffrey Dean Morgan Miami crime drama to the big screen, and adding the likes of Bruce Willis and Bill Murray!

If 'Asylum' is to act as any kind of guide, 'American Horror Story: Coven' will have plenty more castings to divulge right through the October 9 premiere, both new and old. Latest to sign on for round three of FX's Ryan Murphy horror-thriller is 'Magic City' star and 'X-Men' franchise player Danny Huston, who joins opposite Jessica Lange in a role sure to end bloody this fall.
