'Fantastic Four' Is Close to Finding Its Dr. Doom

The Josh Trank reboot of 'Fantastic Four' has found its foursome with Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell cast as Mr. Fantastic, The Invisible Girl, The Human Torch and The Thing, respectively, which means there's one last big piece of the puzzle: Dr. Victor von Doom, the quartet's greatest nemesis. Now it appears it's down to four actors.

Josh Trank's 'Fantastic Four' reboot caused much speculation as of late as various actors and actresses have been mentioned for roles. Michael B. Jordan of 'Fruitvale Station' has long been linked to the role of Johnny Storm/Human Torch (a role previously portrayed onscreen by Chris Evans), but now it looks like the other members of his team have been found!

As actors have already begun testing for roles in Josh Trank's upcoming 'Fantastic Four' reboot, fundamentalist fans have become uneasy over some drastic changes to the characters' mythos. For one, Michael B. Jordan, who's been rumored for the role of the traditionally caucasian Johnny Storm/Human Torch, is reportedly already attached to the character, but even more unexpected is word that 20th Century Fox could bring the classic Dr. Doom villain to life as a woman.

With the 'Fantastic Four' script finally complete, actors and actresses are expected to come in and read for roles in Josh Trank's upcoming reboot by the end of the month. Miles Teller, one of said actors reportedly up for a part, suggested the director would take the film in a very different direction than what we've seen from Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and the rest. But seemingly new plot details have surfaced, hinting that this new take completely does away with the classic origin tale.

After a tortured development, it looks like the much-talked-about 'Fantastic Four' reboot is finally starting to gain some real traction. The current word is that Simon Kinberg's rewrite of the script is finally finished and going out to actors, who will soon audition in various combinations to see who clicks. Longtime fans of Marvel's first family of superheroes may want to sit down before they see who is being eyed for Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman and the Human Torch...

With Marvel building towards future 'Avengers' films, Warner Bros. building 'Batman vs. Superman' towards a 'Justice League' movie and Sony expanding 'The Amazing Spider-Man' universe, you knew it was only a matter of time before Fox announced some big plans for their superhero films. With 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' melding the two 'X-Men' franchises, now it looks like they're going to also combine the 'X-Men' films with the new 'Fantastic Four' reboot into one big universe.
