Captain America: Civil War isn’t the only major superhero film that wrapped principal production this week — Bryan Singer completed his primary work on X-Men: Apocalypse, and David Ayer also finished the principal work on Suicide Squad. To celebrate, Ayer grabbed (almost) the entire cast along with much of the crew for one big photo.

‘Suicide Squad’ Stars Will Smith and Margot Robbie Tattooed David Ayer and Joel Kinnaman

Our very first look at Suicide Squad came via that now-famous image of Jared Leto as a heavily-tatted, street thug version of the Joker. In keeping with the tattoo angle, Will Smith and Margot Robbie had a little fun on the Suicide Squad set, permanently inking co-star Joel Kinnaman and director David Ayer.

One of yesterday’s highlights at Comic-Con — amidst the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice footage and the insanely crowd-pleasing Deadpool reel — was the first teaser for Suicide Squad. If you were waiting for Warner Bros. to put that footage online, you can stop, as it appears that the studio has no intention of releasing it anytime soon. We do have one thing, though: the official Suicide Squad logo.

After months of casting, pre-production photos and the state of Jared Leto’s hair affairs, Suicide Squad is officially, finally filming. Director David Ayer has been bucking the studio trend when it comes to superhero films, and he’s remained very open and communicative about the project on Twitter. Ayer made the official announcement today, so expect to see even more production photos over at his account soon.

DC Comics
It’s all coming together for David Ayer’s Suicide Squad as the upcoming DC film heads into production. Ayer himself has been pretty active on social media, posting pre-production and behind the scenes photos freely — which goes against the typical secrecy surrounding superhero film projects (not that Suicide Squad is your average superhero film). Today, Ayer assembled the cast for a big group photo, which features a few new faces.

‘Suicide Squad’ Casts ‘RoboCop’ Star Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg

20th Century Fox
Despite being based on a niche comic book and starring a cast of characters who are total unknowns to most people, Suicide Squad is quickly shaping up to be one of the most intriguing superhero movies on our radar. Much of our interest comes from the cast director David Ayer has assembled for his supervillain-themed men-on-a-mission tale. Even with Tom Hardy dropping out, the film is still set to feature Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto and Viola Davis (and, sigh, Jai Courtney), which makes this one of the nuttiest ensembles ever assembled. Now, Ayer is looking to plug that Tom Hardy-shaped hole with Joel Kinnaman.

‘Run All Night’ Trailer: Perpetual Action Hero Liam Neeson Takes on the Mob

EDIT
by Britt Hayes February 11, 2015 @ 8:16 PM
Here’s the thing: Liam Neeson is basically starring in the same movies over and over. He’s a living action figure, where you just change his accessories and he can go from air marshall to former CIA agent to hitman, like the one he plays in the first trailer for ‘Run All Night.’ The basic Liam Neeson action figure comes with a leather jacket and a gun, but you can give him different badges, a cell phone, or upgrade his weapons and boom, it’s a whole new story. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but we should all acknowledge it. Go ahead. Try saying it out loud. Feels great.

We're just days away from the fourth and final premiere of 'The Killing,' moving its new season to Netflix to wrap up the exploits of detectives Holder (Joel Kinnaman) and Linden (Mireille Enos) for good. Sad as we'll be to say goodbye to the rain-soaked murder mystery, what better way to kick things off with our first full clip from the new episodes, complete with showering Linden and a bit of Holder-smolder!

'The Killing' Final Season Posters: Blood in the Water for Holder and Linden

The first trailer for Netflix's fourth and final iteration of Seattle murder-mystery drama 'The Killing' seemed to turn the focus inward, focusing more on the bloodied hands of Detectives Holder and Linden themselves, while their new case took the backseat. Now, two moody new posters have emerged for the final Netflix season, and Holder and Linden look more dour than ever.
