We have a good feeling about 'Oculus.' As the latest release from Blumhouse Productions (the folks behind 'Paranormal Activity' and 'Sinister'), the horror film follows a young woman who attempts to clear her brother's name after he is accused of a crime that was actually committed by a creepy supernatural entity living in a mirror. The full 'Oculus' trailer has arrived, and it looks like it'll have its fair share of chills and scares.
The 'Oculus' trailer isn't shy about who's behind the film's production. Producer Jason Blum and his Blumhouse Pictures have had tremendous success with the horror genre, crafting films like 'Paranormal Activity,' 'Insidious,' 'Sinister' and 'The Purge.' The company's latest film is 'Oculus,' which bears many of the same traits as other Blumhouse films. Domestic setting invaded by supernatural horror? Check. A decent cast of actors lending credibility to what should be genre absurdity? Check. A trailer that relies on surreal imagery and the innocent-yet-creepy voice of a child to sell the chills? Check!
Back toward the end of August, 'Longmire' executive producer John Coveny capped off the Wyoming-set lawman drama's second season with news that a third would soon be on the way, though A&E curiously denounced the revelation as premature. Now, three months later, we can officially confirm Sheriff 'Longmire' will return for season 3 in 2014!
As you can see above, we caught up with the beautiful star of 'Riddick,' Katee Sackhoff recently to talk about her role in the Vin Diesel film. But, we had so much fun talking with Ms. Sackhoff, we sat back down with her once our time on video was over for an extended chat.
Below, you can read even more with Katee including why she would have played a naked hooker in 'Riddick' if Vin asked, her love of sci-fi movies and what superhero she'd "love" to play (hint: lets hope the 'Batman vs. Superman' are reading this).
Despite not having a title (and probably not a finished script), we've been hearing about the "Female Expendables" projects for some time now. It's the kind of pitch that would definitely get you in the door: "Take 'The Expendables,' but remove all of the old dudes and replace them with hot, ass kicking ladies!" MMA fighter and 'Haywire' star Gina Carano is attached to star, but it looks like the first member of her team has been selected and anyone who has watched SyFy's 'Battlestar Galactica' will know what a great choice Katee Sackhoff for this kind of project.
Katee Sackhoff has floated around the galaxy a bit in the years since 'Battlestar Galactica' famously ended. After a few short-lived stints on NBC series 'The Bionic Woman,' FOX's '24,' 'CSI,' and the un-picked up Dick Wolf drama 'Lost & Found,' the former Kara Thrace has finally come back down to Earth...for now.
Sackhoff currently stars as Detective Victoria "Vic" Moretti of A&E's new Wyoming procedural drama 'Longmire,' which premiered last night, and follows the Craig Johnson novels of the same name. Sackhoff considers Vic to be one of the first "normal" characters she's ever played, but insists on the same brand of feminine strength she brings to all her roles, science-fiction and the more grounded.
We recently had a chance to sit down with the lovely Katee Sackhoff, not only to discuss her character on the excellent new drama 'Longmire,' but also her eventual turn in the upcoming high-concept 'The Chronicles of Riddick' sequel, dream projects past and present, and believe it or not, when you might see her on a stripper pole!
Oh yes, fellas. It's happening.
