Legends of Tomorrow

For two series steeped in time-travel, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow don’t generally affect one another very often. Legends in particular made little use of a 2056 recording from Barry Allen, but now that Flash has dropped the big Savitar reveal, we may just revisit Barry’s dark future.

After five years’ worth of flashbacks, Arrow is likely to reinvent itself for Season 6 this fall. Missions will change, cast will change, and certain figures that defined the early years may become scarce. In fact, John Barrowman’s Malcolm Merlyn may exit the Arrow-verse altogether, according to the actor’s cryptic tease.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow managed to close out Season 2 of its history-spanning shenanigans without any impact on the Arrow-verse, but will Season 3 be so lucky? Producers promise not only a time-splitting character’s return for Season 3, but also an explanation why neither Arrow nor The Flash weigh in.

Anyone following Arrow at fan conventions in the last few years will recognize one very specific question: “Will Felicity ever suit up and become a vigilante?” Well, get ready, as some new concept art from the penultimate Legends of Tomorrow episode sees “Doomworld” bringing us just that.

It isn’t every day that Flash and Supergirl would cross universes for a musical “Duet,” so The CW is going all out to preview next Tuesday’s extravaganza. In addition to an extended trailer, check out dozens more photos of the big numbers, including some familiar Legends getting their dance on.

The logistics of getting Supergirl to interact with Arrow or The Flash are never easy, but fans have often wondered if the “Earth-1” we follow has a doppelganger Kara Zor-El out there, or if Supergirl’s universe might have an Oliver Queen to facilitate easier appearances. Sadly, producers have shot down that particular brand of crossover, citing the “floodgates of insanity” it might open.

Exciting though it was to have Supergirl, Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow teaming up for a four-way crossover, many were disappointed to find said “Invasion!” only taking place in three parts. Supergirl got the short end of the stick with an otherwise-unrelated episode, but producers hope to rectify that for the next big crossover event.

The contract shenanigans surrounding Arrow star Katie Cassidy have made it difficult to project when Laurel (or her Earth-2 counterpart) might return, but the Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 finale might offer a clue. Not only do producers confirm Laurel’s return, but also another fantasy great to rival the appearance of a young George Lucas.

It’ll be a cold day in hell when Batman joins the ranks of Arrow, Flash, Supergirl or Legends of Tomorrow on The CW, but LEGO has a way of bringing everyone together. It wasn’t long ago that Flash producers confirmed the ghoulish Black Flash would recur across other CW super-dramas; a likely target being placed on Legends of Tomorrow for its current speedster threat. Now, producers confirm we’ll be seeing the erstwhile Zoom in the flesh (what’s left of it) on Legends, while the penultimate and final Season 2 episodes will bring a crossover promised to “send fans into squeals of joy.”
