Following a somewhat successful 'SNL' return, Louis C.K. will return to TV this coming May for the long-awaited fourth season of FX's Emmy-winner 'Louie.' Most of the early spots have cryptically avoided the award-winning comedian's face, but 'Louie' himself is at last front and center in the newest promo for the May 5 premiere, despite a dire end teased.

So very long ago, we were devastated to learn that FX's Emmy darling 'Louie' would go on hiatus until 2014, allowing Louis C.K. the creative freedom to refine an already-adored series. Now, at long last, FX has set a May return date for the comedian's vignette series, with an extra episode in tow and a heaping helping of new 'Louie' every week.

It's been awhile since we've heard any thing on the front of Louis C.K. FX darling 'Louie,' which lest we forget, promises to return in 2014 after a lengthy hiatus from the third season. The long break in between seasons occurred to provide the acclaimed comedian with honest and fresh material, but how long does C.K. see the Emmy-winning dramedy lasting on FX?

The 2013 Emmy nominations have arrived and at first glance, it's more of the same. Of course 'Breaking Bad,' 'Mad Men,' 'Homeland' and 'Downton Abbey' seem to be dominating the drama category! Of course '30 Rock,' 'Louie' and 'Veep' are contenders in the comedy category! However, the big surprise with this year's nominations is that one of the most nominated shows wasn't even on TV at all.

As intriguing as it was to see acclaimed comedian Louis C.K. take on 'SNL' hosting duties for the first time a few weeks back, fans of the comic's FX series 'Louie' still lament the fact that the show's fourth season had been pushed all the way back to 2014.  So, what better way to get our Louis C.K. TV fix than with an all-new HBO stand-up special in 2013?  Will it prove just as award-winning as his last show?
