Has 'Justice League' Been Pushed Back to 2021?

'Justice League' has seen better days. The film was put on hold and then the script was tossed in the garbage heap, all while Marvel moves full steam ahead on Phase 2 of the cinematic universe including, but obviously not limited to, 'The Avengers 2.' And now if new rumors are to be believed, Warner Bros. has put 'Justice League' on the way back burner. How way back? How about 2021?

'Man of Steel' looks like it will be a great movie. This 'Man of Steel' car? Mmm, not so much. At the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Kia Motors revealed the latest car in their 'Justice League' themed lineup. So would Superman actually be caught dead driving this thing? The 'Justice League' movie seemed to be going full steam ahead at Warner Bros. until a few weeks ago when rumblings of trouble in superhero paradise began. First, we heard that the movie might not even happen if 'Man of Steel' isn't a huge hit. Now, we have word that Warner Bros. hates the current 'Justice League' script and may be rethinking their plans for the movie.

2015 was looking to be one of the biggest years in cinema history, as the summer was set to hold 'Star Wars - Episode 7,' 'The Avengers 2' and 'Justice League.' Recently there was word that we might not get 'Episode 7' in 2015 and now we're hearing that Warner Brothers has yet to fully commit to 'Justice League,' and the only way it moves forward is if 'Man of Steel' is a hit.

'Man of Steel' will feature a post-credits scene cameo from Joseph Gordon-Levitt who will introduce himself as the new Batman! That was the sexy rumor from late-2012 and the explanation for how Warner Bros. would kickstart the 'Justice League' buzz. Unfortunately it's not true.

'Man of Steel' has a villain any Superman fan will recognize: General Zod. Played by Oscar-nominee Michael Shannon, Zod was famously seen in 'Superman II' and introduced the classic line, "Kneel before Zod!" But is there another Superman bad guy in 'Man of Steel?' One that the filmmakers are trying to keep quiet? There very well may be and that top secret villain may have been spoiled with details on the new 'Man of Steel' toy line.
