Going on months now, we've heard plenty of casting reports from FX's Guillermo del Toro-adapted vampire thriller 'The Strain,' though little in the way of a highly-anticipated series order. That process continues today, as '24' vet Roger Cross has been announced to join the massive ensemble in an action-heavy role, but as whom, you ask?

We were already on board with FX's forthcoming pilot adaptation of Guillermo del Toro's vampire novel series 'The Strain,' but the latest casting might prove its most inspired yet. 'Hellboy' and recent 'Doctor Who' star John Hurt has officially joined the cast in an important role, deepening the mystery of 'The Strain's lack of series order.
