A few weeks ago, The CW surprised us all with early guaranteed renewals for our personal favorites 'Arrow' and 'Supernatural,' as well as 'The Vampire Diaries' and freshman offerings 'The Originals' and 'Reign.' Not all of the network's series have been guaranteed additional seasons, but we at least have exact dates for their impending finales!

We're still on the fence as to whether The CW's aging 'Supernatural' really warrants a spinoff this late in the game, but, either way, 'Supernatural: Tribes' has begun assembling. 'Skins' alum Lucien Laviscount will take a leading role in the Chicago-set spinoff alongside 'The Vampire Diaries' alum Nathaniel Buzolic.
It only looks like Christmas outside on the east coast, but The CW has delivered early presents for fans of its most popular series, including 'Arrow,' 'Supernatural,' 'The Vampire Diaries,' its spinoff 'The Originals' and period soap 'Reign.' All five series have been renewed for additional seasons to carry into 2015!
We still don't know if 'Arrow''s 'The Flash' spinoff will be zooming onto The CW as its own series this fall, but its pilot supporting cast is at least picking up speed. 'The Vampire Diaries' star Rick Cosnett has joined the cast in a regular role speculated to be that of a major 'Flash' villain, along with Danielle Panabaker as someone with ties to the scarlet speedster's mysterious origins, and a villain in her own right!
Though the past week brought shocking and divisive news that 'Girls' star Adam Driver was potentially up for the role of Dick Grayson/Nightwing in 'Batman Vs. Superman,' we'd heard long before that Nightwing could potentially swoop into The CW's 'Arrow.' A 'Vampire Diaries' star has recently been suggesting himself in contention for the role, but is there any real truth to the rumor?
Granted, standards for The CW are far different than that of other broadcast networks like CBS or even NBC, it seems The CW has a full house in its fall 2013 lineup. Full-season orders have been given to 'The Vampire Diaries' offshoot 'The Originals,' as well as Amell-cousin fronted 'The Tomorrow People,' and the Mary Queen of Scots drama 'Reign.'
CBS president Les Moonves fielded a number of questions today from the ongoing TCA press tour panels, including some controversial remarks about The CW operating at something of a loss. Regardless of the financials however, there's good news for CW fans as 'Supernatural,' 'The Vampire Diaries' and 'The Originals' have all been given earlier premieres, while the 'Whose Line Is It Anyway' revival has been confirmed for a second season.
Kicking off the penultimate panel of Saturday’s TV schedule, the cast and crew of The CW’s ‘The Vampire Diaries’ assembled in Ballroom 20 at Comic-Con today to preview the coming fifth season! From glimpses of life on the other side, to the collegiate road ahead and plenty of tantalizing hookups, hear what the stars and creative minds behind The CW’s major supernatural hit have to say going into the fifth season, with a spin-off in tandem!
It's been a good long while since we've heard anything from 'The Vampire Diaries' upcoming fifth season, but now it seems in advance of next week's Comic-Con 2013 panel, the details have begun to trickle out. The Mystic Falls series had added two mysterious new players to the fifth season in the form of Russian model-actress Olga Fonda and 'Greek' star Kendrick Sampson, but who will the new stars play?
And so it goes for fall 2013 that The CW has become the third major network to release its premiere schedule of the coming year. Once more, The CW will hold off on its major premieres until October in avoidance of competition from the other networks, holding some of its new and returning sci-fi series on deck for midseason.
