Let's face it: no one cuts trailers quite like HBO. In an age where we've seemingly forgotten that trailers and TV spots are advertisements because they're put together so artfully, HBO continues to be leaps and bounds ahead of the competition. Thankfully, their content tends to live up to the marketing. Their newly released Winter Preview promo (which you can watch below) reminds us why they're worth the subscription cost.

Sadly, 'Veep's second season won't be debuting along with its previous Sunday companion 'Girls (returning January 13), but rest assured that a new season of Selina Meyer's increasingly embarassing stint as the titular 'Veep' is on the way. To that end, what does Emmy-winning star Julia Louis-Dreyfus have to say about where the second season will take her character? And what unlikely commentary does the show make about the recent 'Homeland' season finale?

With its well-deserved buzz and Emmy win for star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, 'Veep' is bound to attract some major attention for its impending second season.  We've already heard at least one name joining in a recurring capacity, that of former 'Luck' and 'Transformers' star Kevin Dunn, but who's next?  Well, according to one source, character actor Gary Cole is about to join the Vice Presidential sitcom in a major recurring role, but as whom?  And what political figure might he be based on?

Thanks to HBO, Kevin Dunn won't be out of a job very long. The pay cabler's horse-racing drama 'Luck' may have been shut down just as production began on a second season, but that doesn't mean its cast should have to lose the race! Series star (as well as 'Transformers' dad) Kevin Dunn will take a significant role in the upcoming second season of the Emmy-winning 'Veep,' but as whom? Is one 'Veep' staffer out of a job?

We thought about making a joke about how 'Parks and Recreation's Amy Poehler stealing Julia Louis-Dreyfus' husband Brad Hall might have been what caused the split between her and Will Arnett, but then we just got sad.  Then we tried to make it into a joke about Julia stealing Amy's Emmy for Outstanding Female Lead, but then we just got sad about her and Will Arnett again.  But anyway, Brad Hall is going to be on 'Parks and Recreation,' or whatever.
