Earth's mightiest superheroes, a.k.a. 'The Avengers,' strike some suitably heroic and/or moody poses in a new batch of character posters that have just been released.

Posted online, a few of the new one-sheets seem to be lifted right off that heavily Photoshopped group poster that debuted a few weeks ago.

Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man seems to be striking the same exact pose he did in the earlier artwork, although thankfully Chris Evans as Captain America is not standing like a statue waiting for a museum to be built around him, as he was in the earlier poster.

Almost all the new posters highlight a main character with another one somewhere in the frame, we suppose to reinforce that whole "team spirit" thing. So a pensive Thor (Chris Hemsworth) has Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) lurking behind him, while the Widow's solo poster has Cap peering over her shoulder. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) shares space with S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), who makes her poster debut behind his impressive leather coat.

Meanwhile, we're guessing that the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) drew the short straws, because they don't even get their own poster but have to bunk up together. And poor Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) is nowhere to be found.

So take a gander and see if this latest batch of art continues to stoke your fan fever for May 3rd, when posters and still photos will finally give way to two hours of live-action 'Avengers' mayhem.
