It's been awhile since we've heard or seen any real previews from 'The Newsroom' season 2, even if Aaron Sorkin isn't the type to buy into the spoiler machine ahead of schedule. Most recently we learned that 'Mad Men' star Rosemarie DeWitt had to bow out of a planned season 2 role, and ended up replaced and re-shot with Marcia Gay Harden, so what's the latest? Fresh off her turn in 'House of Cards,' Constance Zimmer will return to HBO after years of 'Entourage' for a role in 'The Newsroom' season 2. So, who will she play?

With HBO's controversial Aaron Sorkin drama 'The Newsroom' set to premiere its second season sometime this summer, the newsworthy series has added yet another name to the ranks of its season 2 cast. Via Deadline, actress Constance Zimmer has been announced to join the series in the role of Taylor, press spokesperson for the Mitt Romney campaign that dominates much of the second season's focus.

Best known for her role as Dana Gordon over the course of 'Entourage,' Zimmer also maintained a prominent role in the first season of 'House of Cards,' likely to be continued in the eventual second season.

Elsewhere, the second season of HBO’s ‘The Newsroom’ features appearances by current ‘Justified‘ star Patton Oswalt as the fictional networks new Vice President of Human Resources, as well as Meryl Streep’s daughter Grace Gummer as a reporter embedded with the Mitt Romney campaign. Little else is known of the pay-cable drama’s second season, other than Sorkin’s intent to utilize a vast array of paid consultants for its source material, as opposed to the handful used during the first season.
