FX and Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain has shown us a bleak, vampire-run future one teaser at a time, but the full trailer is finally ready to fight back. See for yourself, as the fourth and final season’s full promo teases a shocking twist for David Bradley’s Sertrakian.

Following a round of recent teasers illuminating a bombed-out New York and the sinister Strigoi “Partnership,” FX released a full trailer for The Strain’s fourth and final season. The July 16 premiere will pick up with Eph (Corey Stoll) leading a new group of rebels in New York City, while Zack remains in captivity among The Master (and a turned Eldritch Palmer?). And hey, they couldn’t possibly have turned Sertrakian, right?

So reads the Season 4 synopsis:

As the fourth and final season begins, nine months have passed. The world has fallen into darkness, and the strigoi are in control. The explosion at the end of season three triggered a global nuclear apocalypse. The resulting nuclear winter liberated the strigoi, allowing them to move about during daytime, and allowing the Master to establish a totalitarian regime. Preying on the fears of the populace, the Master and his minions have created an unsettling alliance in “The Partnership.” The majority of humans are now working for the strigoi, operating with a single understanding – collaborate or die. With the world in disarray and our heroes disbanded, each of them will have to overcome personal hardship and defy death for even the smallest chance at fighting back… All the while, the Master reigns supreme, furthering his scheme for the end of the world as we know it. In the face of annihilation…do our heroes have what it takes to save humankind?

Elsewhere, Season 4 of The Strain will feature Pixels star Jocelyn Hudon as Abby, Jess Salgueiro as “glamorous and tough young lady” Rosalinda and K.C. Collins as Roman, who helps the main characters in their fight for survival.

FX’s The Strain will keep the blood flowing until its July 16 premiere, so prepare for the end.
