The limited six-episode nature of The X-Files 2016  return means a limited reserve of footage with which to tease the January premiere, but Mulder and Scully can certainly find other ways to build the hype. Case in point, UFO sightings are popping up all over the country, according to the latest X-Files return teaser.

The latest look at The X-Files‘ January return sees a mysterious light shining over the skies in 2015, one the government naturally writes off as a missile test, though Mulder asks “We must ask ourselves, are we truly alone? Or are we being lied to?”

Not only that, but FOX delivered another moody new poster for Mulder and Scully’s big reunion:

Thus far, FOX’s X-Files return has confirmed the Lone Gunmen, Annabeth Gish, Mitch Pileggi and William B. Davis to reprise their roles beside David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, while Community star Joel McHale will play a conservative pundit who tasks Mulder and Scully with investigating a woman claiming to have been abducted (The Americans star Annet Mahendru). Additionally, comedian and superfan Kumail Nanjiani will play a small role, while Flash star Robbie Amell and Six Feet Under alum Lauren Ambrose will play a pair of confident new FBI agents.

On the creative side, writers and producers Chris Carter, Glen Morgan and Jim Wong will return to write and direct, and composer Mark Snow also aboard. Plenty more details will arise before the official January 24 premiere, but rewatch the X-Files trailers below, and prepare for the truth to return in 2016.
