Tom Hardy was all set to star in Suicide Squad, the first DC movie to hit theaters after Batman vs. Superman. He was going to be the star of the movie, in a movie filled with stars like Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto. But, just a few months before filming, he abruptly dropped out of the production and was later replaced by Joel Kinnaman. Hardy, however, says he has plans to return to the DC universe and he’s already working with Warner Bros. on a new secret project.

So, what is this new project? We’ll let Hardy, who spoke to Collider, explain, mostly because we have no idea what he’s talking about.

It contains elements of all kinds of stuff. From Ocean's Eleven, to Batman, you can get all the wrappers out and it would be a big, really cool, technicolor Pulp Fiction. It's a psychological fuckfest, it's absolutely awesome. It's as if you would take [the Warren Ellis co-created comic book series] Transmetropolitan and make it happen, but it's not that out there. It's something which is much more real world. It could be like Heat, it could be fucking awesome.

Oooookay. But, seriously Tom, what is this?

“It’s not even a movie!”

OK SO WHAT IS IT??

It’s real estate, it’s PRIME real estate which is sitting there right under everybody’s nose that no one’s really thought about yet, and it goes TV and movie, it’s awesome. I know they thought of it, but no one has actually blown life into it yet.

What we’ve learned is that it's not a movie, but it's sort of a movie, but it's also TV and real estate and it's a “f---fest”. And it will star Tom Hardy. We’d like to hazard some guesses as to which DC property he’s talking about, but frankly we have no idea what he’s talking about. A video game, maybe? If it were a traditional movie, we might say the Lobo movie, but he says “no one’s really thought about it yet” and that movie has been in various forms of development for a few years.

One thing we will say is that if this Tom Hardy “psychological f---fest” is anything like this current “psychological f---fest” — Mad Max: Fury Road — we’re all in, no matter what it is.
