We're getting continually closer to the June 16 premiere of 'True Blood' season 6, and with 'Game of Thrones' taking a break this weekend for Memorial Day, HBO has decided to give us an early weekend head start on the festivity. The latest 'True Blood' season 6 trailer gives us a good look at the new human villain making life miserable for vampires.

Vampires beware, the Governor is out for blood! We've seen a few clutch teasers of 'True Blood's' sixth year, but the latest focuses heavily on the human side of danger, showing new human villain and series regular Governor Truman Burrell ('Rubicon's Arliss Howard) as he urges Americans to exercise their right to protect themselves against the increasing vampire threat. Billith is noticeably absent from the footage, so who will end up posing the bigger danger?

‘True Blood’ season 6 features a showrunner change from Mark Hudis to Bryan Buckner, season 5 guest star and former ‘Last Resort’ star Robert Patrick has been upgraded to series regular, while ‘True Blood’ season 6 also features the return of Anna Camp‘s Sarah Newlin, Luke Grimes as the “Jim Morrison of vampires,” ‘House‘s’ Karolina Wydra, Rutger Hauer as mysterious vampire Macklyn, and ‘Eastenders’ star Robert Kazinsky as a series regular and new Fae love interest to Sookie.

Premiering June 16, True Blood’ season 6 will take place over 10 episodes, down from the usual 12, largely to accommodate series star Anna Paquin’s pregnancy with co-star Stephen Moyer.
