Don't ever cross Alex Cross or he'll get... cross? That's what this new poster for 'Alex Cross,' starring Tyler Perry and Matthew Fox wants you to think. We don't think they tried to be redundant enough, honestly.

In the new film from director Rob Cohen ('The Fast and the Furious' -- yes, really), Tyler Perry takes on the titular role of Alex Cross, a detective previously played by Morgan Freeman in 'Kiss the Girls' and 'Along Came a Spider,' based on the novels by James Patterson.

'Alex Cross' features the DC-based detective investigating the murder of one of his own family members, which leads him to uncover a string of similar murders, indicating the likelihood of a serial killer (but of course!)

Matthew Perry co-stars as the serial killer engaged in a game of cat-and-mouse with the clever detective. But the poster below doesn't answer the important questions, like: Why is Matthew Fox a giant? Is he the 'Lost' smoke monster? Will Madea make an appearance as a wise-cracking, no-nonsense judge who brings her own brand of familial integrity to the courtroom?

All of this remains to be seen, but we'll know soon enough when 'Alex Cross' hits theaters October 19. That should give them plenty of time to make sure Matthew Fox knows how to use a gun, right?
