Even with FX's stock on the rise of late, it's been a good long while since we've heard anything about the upcoming third season of surrealist comedy 'Wilfred,' particularly since showrunner David Zuckerman stepped down from his position. Now, as the series gears up for its upcoming summer release, former 'Fringe' star Lance Reddick will pick up the ball as a guest star for season 3, but what authoritative figure will the former Agent Broyles play this time around?

'Wilfred's' Ryan Newman (Elijah Wood) has always lived a bit on the fringe across two seasons, but FX's upcoming third year will see that take on new meaning. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that former 'Fringe,' 'LOST' and 'The Wire' star Lance Reddick has booked a role on the FX dramedy's season 3 portraying Ryan's calm, no-nonsense therapist Dr. Blum.

It isn't known precisely how many episodes Reddick will appear in, but THR believes the 'Fringe' star will appear toward the back of 'Wilfred's' third season. FX has also yet to declare an official premiere for the new season, for which writer/executive producers Reed Agnew and Eli Jorne will take over showrunning for David Zuckerman.

Reddick has also previously appeared on another FX comedy, guesting on the newly transferred FXX comedy 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.' Tell us if you'll tune in for 'Wilfred' season 3 in the comments!
