Arctic ‘Terror’ Grips AMC in First-Look Teaser for Ridley Scott’s New Series
It’s been some time since anyone considered The Walking Dead scary, so allow AMC to introduce a new vision of horror. Our first look at Ridley Scott’s adaptation of Dan Simmons’ The Terror has arrived, including a new teaser and photos of some familiar Game of Thrones faces.
Ahead of a sneak peek airing with The Walking Dead this Sunday, AMC opted to release a first teaser and photos from the forthcoming ten-episode series, which will now debut on Monday, March 26 at 9:00 P.M. The series follows the Royal Navy’s disastrous attempts to find the Northwest Passage in arctic conditions, and stars both Justice League and Game of Thrones alum Ciarán Hinds and Tobias Menzies, as well as The Crown alum Jared Harris.
The series is executive produced by Ridley Scott, David Kajganich and Soo Hugh, while the first synopsis reads:
Inspired by a true story, The Terror centers on the Royal Navy’s perilous voyage into unchartered territory as the crew attempts to discover the Northwest Passage. Faced with treacherous conditions, limited resources, dwindling hope and fear of the unknown, the crew is pushed to the brink of extinction. Frozen, isolated and stuck at the end of the earth, The Terror highlights all that can go wrong when a group of men, desperate to survive, struggle not only with the elements, but with each other.
The ten-episode series stars Jared Harris (The Crown, Mad Men) as Captain Francis Crozier; Tobias Menzies (Outlander) as Captain James Fitzjames; Ciarán Hinds (Game of Thrones) as Sir John Franklin; Paul Ready (Cuffs) as Dr. Henry Goodsir; Adam Nagaitis (Suffragette) as Cornelius Hickey Nive Nielsen (The New World) as Lady Silence; Ian Hart (Neverland) as Thomas Blanky; and Trystan Gravelle (Mr. Selfridge) as Henry Collins.
Check out some photos of the cast:
You can watch the sneak peek on whatever screen you like during Sunday’s Walking Dead finale, but stay tuned for the latest on The Terror in the meantime.
