Needless to say, after Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler decided to leave the 'American Idol' judges' table, the show tumbled into chaos. With less than two weeks until open auditions are held in New York City, Mariah Carey is the only name officially attached to the panel and Randy Jackson has stepped down to a mentoring role. All the while reports continue to speculate on who will be joining the team, but with nothing made official yet, there's still a small bit of wiggle room.

Rapping bubblegum sensation Nicki Minaj and country star Keith Urban will most likely accept the roles of 'American Idol' judges, as both are in the final contractual stages. However, EW now reports that a tentative fourth judging spot has opened up and a $4 million offer has been extended to Enrique Iglesias to fill it. Fox tried including a fourth judge in the past, but were said to be unhappy with the results.

But (and this is a big BUT) everyone, including Minaj and Urban, haven't "officially" signed on for anything; and Iglesias in particular doesn't have a great track record for accepting reality show offers, as he previously turned down gigs on 'X Factor' and 'The Voice.' Fox is definitely prepared if one of these stars decided to bail at the last second and has a slew of backups to choose from.

The current word on the street is that Adam Lambert is next in line if Iglesias turns down the offer, and the former 'American Idol' contestant has expressed a strong interest in coming on as a judge. Kanye West and Nick Jonas are also said to be in the pool of candidates. "There will be several positive announcements to follow shortly," 'American Idol' Creator and Executive Producer Simon Fuller said recently. "'American Idol' is moving up a gear and with the help and commitment from Fox, who are more intimately involved and supportive this season than ever before, we are looking forward to a dynamic new season ahead."
