Remember way back when 'Evil Dead' remake director Fede Alvarez, original 'Evil Dead' director Sam Raimi and even Bruce Campbell all sparked rumors of a possible 'Army of Darkness 2,' a sequel to the Campbell-led sequel to the original 'Evil Dead'? Well, apparently this is actually happening, if the actor's latest statements hold any water.

Speaking to a crowd at Wizard World Nashville Comic Con, at which Bloody-Disgusting was on hand, the Campbell said:

The last one was 22 years ago. I just haven’t been racing to do it. Sam Raimi is just a little bit busy making the biggest movies in Hollywood. I used to be busy. Now I’m not. That’s why I’m here.

After cracking jokes about Ash beating walkers/deadites with a cane and faking them out with "a fake heart attack," he then offered a more serious statement, saying, "Alright sir, the answer is yes." However, we wouldn't get our hopes up just yet.

Considering Campbell's joking nature, it's difficult to decipher fact from fiction, especially when it comes to 'Army of Darkness 2.' Even back in March when Raimi stated he had plans to work out the script during the summer, he quickly recanted, saying he felt pressured to make a statement. Still, if Campbell says it'll happen, it could still happen. With all the fan power backing this idea, they could Kickstart a sequel into existence.

We'll keep our eyes out for more info, but until then, what do you think? Do you want to see 'Army of Darkness 2' with Campbell in the lead?
