‘Arrow’ Vets Its New Black Canary in Extended ‘Second Chances’ Trailer
It wasn’t terribly likely of Arrow to introduce Laurel back into the mix without some caveat, and Wednesday’s “Who Are You?” gave at least several. Not only was that not our Black Canary, but a new songstress has arisen in Hub City; apparently with significantly more skills. At least per the extended “Second Chances” trailer.
Where last night briefly introduced us to a Canary Cry-ing defender of women in Hub City (Walking Dead alum Julia Harkavy), next week will fully introduce the character as Tina Boland, detective and potential Black Canary successor. As the above trailer reveals, a Canary needs more than heavy training (if ever Laurel was proof), but this one isn’t so into the costumed scene.
In the meantime, so reads the “Second Chances” synopsis, which also introduces Talia al Ghul:
TALIA AL GHUL TAKES OLIVER UNDER HER WING — In his quest to take down Kovar, Oliver (Stephen Amell) gets help from a surprising source – Talia al Ghul (guest star Lexa Doig). However, when she reveals what she wants from him in exchange, Oliver isn’t sure he can accept her help. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) attempts to hack the NSA to help free Diggle (David Ramsey) but when her online efforts are flagged, she faces off against an unknown adversary. Meanwhile, Curtis (Echo Kellum) tells the team about a female vigilante, Tina Boland (guest star Juliana Harkavay), he uncovered online who has been wreaking havoc all over the country.
It remains to be seen if Arrow will keep its new Black Canary permanently, but how might the latest recruit shape up against the last? Watch the initial trailer below.
