If you, like us, were driven to joyful tears by the mere mention of “baby Porgs,” then you’ve come to the right place. Maybe. Kind of. See, they’re not exactly what you probably imagined when Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy name-dropped the infant version of everyone’s new favorite Star Wars creature last week. Depending on your perspective, baby Porgs either look totally cute or like a surrealist clay sculpture of nesting agony that demands to be documented by Werner Herzog.

During an appearance on The Star Wars Show, Kennedy revealed that not only would we meet and fall head over heels for Porgs in The Last Jedi, but we’d also get to see their little Porg babies, known as Porglets (PORGLETS!). Now, thanks to a Japanese toy site (yeah, I don’t know, either), via Cinema Blend, we know what a nest of Porglets looks like.

…And it’s as if David Cronenberg adapted a nursery rhyme:

(Shout out to my pal Bryan Chojnowski for the apt Madballs comparison.)

The little Porglets look like the tiny faces of disapproving grandmothers. Again, your mileage may vary, so this could be COMPLETELY THE CUTEST, or it might be nightmare fuel. It’s definitely somewhat unexpected, that’s for sure.

Hopefully they’ll look a little less…clumpy…when we see the real deal. Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15.
