Is ‘Better Call Saul’ Hinting at This ‘Breaking Bad’ Guy’s Finale Return?
AMC’s Better Call Saul has seen a number of connections with its Breaking Bad roots in Season 2, with fans uncovering some compelling evidence one of the biggest “Bad”s of them all will return for Monday’s finale. Yes, the Chicken Man may return, but don’t get your hopes up for the finale just yet.
You’re warned of potential Better Call Saul Season 2 spoilers from here on out, but where Mike has been dealing with Breaking Bad faces past all season, from Tuco, to a pre-stroke Hector Salamanca, and even the cousins, Giancarlo Esposito’s Gustavo “Gus” Fring may not be in the cards. There’s at least some intriguing evidence made by rearranging episode titles from Season 2:
That said, TVLine pointed to a March THR report with producers Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, in which the Breaking Bad alum hinted at a familiar face potentially showing up for the Better Call Saul Season 2 finale, but one they’d ultimately decided against:
Gilligan: We had a perfect opportunity for someone from our Breaking Bad universe to show up.
Gould: It killed me though. That would’ve been fun.
It stands to reason that Fring might eventually pop up on the series through Mike (if you’ll recall, Jimmy/Saul had to reach out to Mike to make that connection for Walter in the first place), but could we see the Chicken Man as early as Monday?
Stay tuned for the latest on Season 2 and beyond.
