A few months back we were intrigued to learn that CBS had decided to option a sequel/reboot TV series out of Eddie Murphy's iconic comedy vehicle 'Beverly Hills Cop,' focusing on main character Axel Foley's son. Comedic star Brandon T. Jackson has officilaly been confirmed to take the lead role of Aaron Foley, but the question remains if Eddie Murphy himself would ever appear in the series. Find out what involvement Eddie Murphy will have in CBS' Beverly Hills Cop' TV series below!

Even with the likeable comedic charms of Brandon T. Jackson, most 'Beverly Hills Cop fans would argue that the franchise wouldn't feel like itself without original star Eddie Murphy returning in at least some capacity as Axel Foley. Speaking at the CBS Television Critics Association Press Tour panel today, CBS president Nina Tassler gave reporters an update on how involved Murphy would be with the series, apart from producing.

Not only did Tassler confirm that Eddie Murphy would make an appearance in the 'Beverly Hills Cop' TV series, but that “he wants to come back multiple times.” Produced by Eddie Murphy and ‘The Shield’ producer Shawn Ryan, the forthcoming ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ series has a pilot production commitment and follows Axel Foley’s son Aaron Foley working to  “take down the criminal elements of the rich and famous, while simultaneously trying to escape the shadow of his larger than life father.”
