Bill Murray is Obsessed With the ‘Road House’ Sex Scene

It seems like just yesterday we were talking about Bill Murray and his reputation for being Bill Murray. Oh wait, that was just yesterday? Well already today we have another story about Bill Murray and his repeated efforts to be the best ever. Enter his heckling of Kelly Lynch for her 'Road House' sex scene.

Bill Murray is just like us. He sings karaoke, plays kickball and watches 'Road House' at the 2 in the morning.

Actress Kelly Lynch sat down with the AV Club for a retrospective on her career and, of course, the conversation eventually turned to the 1989 cult classic 'Road House.' There are some interesting tidbits in there (for example, she was hired to replace Annette Bening who was fired before shooting began) but most interesting when the topic turns to Bill Murray.

Says Lynch:

By the way, speaking of Bill Murray, every time Road House is on and he or one of his idiot brothers are watching TV—and they’re always watching TV—one of them calls my husband [director Mitch Glazer] and says, “Kelly’s having sex with Patrick Swayze right now. They’re doing it. He’s throwing her against the rocks.” [Away from the receiver.] What? Oh, my God. Mitch was just walking out the door to the set, and he said that Bill once called him from Russia.

So Bill Murray once called Los Angeles from Russia just to bust chops. Also, Bill Murray was in Russia and watching 'Road House.' (For the record, Murray (and his brothers Brian Doyle-Murray and Joel Murray) know Lynch's husband Glazer from the 1988 Christmas comedy 'Scrooged.')

Back to the heckling, Lynch adds, "God help me when AMC’s doing their Road House marathon, because I know the phone is just going to keep ringing. It doesn’t matter if it’s 2 or 3 in morning. 'Hi, Kelly’s having sex with Patrick Swayze right now…''
