NBC has announced that the modestly performing Dick Wolf firefighter drama 'Chicago Fire' is on its way to a full-season pickup! 'Fire' is spreading , in a manner solely good news for 'Law & Order' vet Dick Wolf's 'Chicago Fire.' According to Deadline, NBC has opted to pick up the series for a full season of 22 episodes, having previously ordered additional scripts for the modestly-performing series. 'Chicago Fire' has averaged 8 million viewers, and recently saw a surge in its creative prowess that led NBC to increase the order.

“We all love this thrilling new drama with its sexy breakout cast,” said Jennifer Salke, president, NBC Entertainment. “We are excited to see it gaining traction on our schedule. Executive producer Dick Wolf and all the producers have done an amazing job developing a high-stakes series with lots of great heroic characters whose exploits are depicted in Dick’s typically epic storytelling style. We are incredibly invested in this one and can’t wait to hear about their plans for the back nine.”
