You might think it’s called Deadpool 2 because it’s the sequel to Deadpool 1. No. It’s really titled Deadpool, Too, because this movie actually has two heroes: Deadpool, once again played by Ryan Reynolds, and Cable, played by Josh Brolin. The other signature creation of Deadpool artist Rob Liefeld, Cable is a warrior from the future who’s been sent to the past for a very specific mission. Whether that mission will come into play in Deadpool 2 we’ll have to wait and see, but for sure he is a much more serious guy than Wade Wilson (warriors from the future tend to be pretty stern, in my experience). So they are not going to get along. That’s the fun of the whole thing.

Here’s the movie’s official plot synopsis:

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.

This ... this may not be what actually happens in this movie. Deadpool 2 opens in theaters on May 18.
