‘Doctor Who’ Christmas Special 2014 Sneak Peek: Clara Meets Nick Frost’s Santa
Though not even yet Thanksgiving, ‘Doctor Who’ already has us in the Christmas spirit with the season 8 finale tease of Nick Frost’s take on jolly old St. Nick, er…Father Christmas, Santa, what-have-you. In any case, why wait until the big day when we have our first sneak peek of the 2014 Christmas special, featuring Clara and the Doctor facing off with Santa Claus himself!
Not only does the first ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas special confirm that Clara will be front and center, reunited with the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) once more, so too do we see that Nick Frost’s take on the famous figure proves somewhat less than friendly. In addition to the new sneak peek, the BBC has also released the first photo of the hour, and its subsequent synopsis:
It’s Christmas in the North Pole when the Doctor and Clara return to BBC AMERICA in an all-new Christmas special. Last year’s special featured the emotional regeneration that marked the start of Peter Capaldi’s run as the Twelfth Doctor. This year the Time Lord and his companion are in for an all-new adventure as stars Capaldi and Jenna Coleman are joined by Nick Frost (The Worlds End, Shaun of the Dead) as Santa Claus!
Previously announced guest stars include Michael Troughton (Breathless, The New Statesman), son of Second Doctor Patrick Troughton, Natalie Gumede (Coronation Street, Strictly Come Dancing), Faye Marsay (Pride, The White Queen), and Nathan McMullen (Misfits, Casualty). Written by Emmy Award winner Steven Moffat (Sherlock, Coupling) and directed by Paul Wilmshurst (Strike Back, Combat Kids), the 2014 Christmas Special will air on BBC AMERICA.
See for yourself in the first sneak peek up above, and tell us in the comments what you want to see when ‘Doctor Who’ squares off against Santa Claus himself in the 2014 Christmas special!
